The new ANTABIF (Antarctic Biodiversity Information Facility), funded by the Belgian Science Policy Office (www.belspo.be), is building a dedicated Antarctic biodiversity data infrastructure giving access to a distributed network of contributing database, according to the principles of the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (www.gbif.org) and of the Antarctic Treaty, as a legacy of the International Polar Year (IPY).

New dataset: Antarctic Amphipoda
A new dataset is available, including original records on Amphipods from Claude De Broyer team. The data is extracted from the Catalogue of the Gammaridean and Corophiidean Amphipoda (Crustacea) of the Southern Ocean with distribution and ecological data. In: De Broyer C. (Ed.), Census of Antarctic Marine Life, Synopsis of the Amphipoda of the Southern Ocean. Volume 1. Bulletin de l'Institut Royal des Sciences Naturelles de Belgique , Biologie, 77 (suppl. 1), 1-325. It includes new occurrence records of gammaridean and corophiidean amphipods from the Southern Ocean s.l. (Antarctic and sub-Antarctic regions).
